the hinge as a time structure

[from the Oxford Dictionnary]

We could construct a possible ontology of architecture based in the concept of hinge. The hinge would then be a generator of every possible architectural condition: the control of difference in space would be undertaken by the hinge. Furthermore : we could read the Georg Simmel's essay about the bridge and the door as a particular silent honor to this architectural piece that is absent but maybe omnipotent in the text. If we keep thinking in a Simmel's background we could also add in this "hinge syllogism" a particular view connecting the possibility of constructing views over the fragmentary and the "holistic". Still the hinge can be proved to be the regulator of this particular mutation from the part to the whole for which Simmel writes in his Philosophy of the Landscape.

A new label is included as a reference for the person. The category of sleepwalking has to do with dreams that the person considers as important, dreams that make the person wake up and that the person remembers. Tonight the dream of a falling dog from the sky, maybe the fall has to do with an airplane accident but there are no other survivors, only the dog. The dog is then identified with the person swimming in the ocean. The person is swimming together with his girlfriend and sees now the land but the sea is much higher than the land's level. A double natural dam keeps the sea in this high level and the two swimmers cannot get out till they find a natural bridge that permits them to get out. While there, they lie on the ground and the person remembers an inexistent book entitled "political travelers" and an inexistent talk he had with 2 friends on the same topic.

If we accept that the person is identified to a collector, a self-knowledge would be a work of aesthetics: the self knowledge would be identified to a choosing strategy. The "Socratic" dogma for the person defined as an impossibility of knowing (ἕν οἷδα ὅτι οὐδὲν οἶδα) woud be thus inversed to an unavoidable self sufficiency. This aesthetic self sufficiency is characterized by the terms of a collection's creation.
