concrete beds revisited

The Concrete Beds project is found again in an interesting book by Mona Mahal and Asli Serbest, published by Gerd de Bruyn for Institut Grundlagen moderner Architektur und Entwerfen (IGMA), Universität Stuttgart. The work is presented within an analysis of the concept of speculation and some of its histories in Architecture.
concrete beds
This 2004 project proposes prefabricated beds of reinforced concrete to be planted in a rocky seaside landscape in such a way that they look like scattered caves. Wires and tubes are hidden in the "natural" ground not to disturb an imagery of "semi-natural" life in caves while constituting all the benefits of a hidden infrastructure.
